Meet Coach Cara

Co-Owner

@CaraJBacher

Cara Bacher began her coaching journey in 2010, working with youth tennis programs in New Jersey and North Carolina. Two years later, she expanded into personal training and spin instruction in West Virginia.

After finishing her collegiate athletic career and graduate studies, she joined her first CrossFit gym—Ronin Fitness—in 2016. She was immediately drawn to the camaraderie, the energy of the community, and the challenge of weightlifting.

In 2017, a move to Cleveland brought her to PHYT CLE Athletics and CLE Barbell Club, where she quickly connected with the team and community. Although a job opportunity took her back to West Virginia for a year, the relationships she built at PHYT made the decision to return to Cleveland an easy one.

She joined the PHYT coaching staff in 2018 and continues to share her passion for movement, strength, and helping others find confidence and fulfillment through fitness.

Cara also owns and operates PHYT for Function, a direct access manual therapy clinic helping active adults solve joint, muscle, and nerve pain.

In her free time, Cara races gravel bikes as part of the J Mac Cycling Team, as well as enjoys horseback riding and hiking with her dogs.
